The Ethiopian 10 birr note is a paper currency denomination that was first introduced in 1997. The note features the image of former Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie on the front and the image of an ibex, a type of wild mountain goat, on the back.
Over the years, the 10 birr note has become a common currency denomination in Ethiopia and is widely used for everyday transactions. However, due to inflation and the depreciation of the Ethiopian birr, the value of the 10 birr note has decreased significantly since its introduction.
Despite its reduced value, the 10 birr note is still in circulation and remains an important part of the Ethiopian economy. Many people in Ethiopia, particularly those in the informal sector or those who do not have access to electronic payment systems, continue to rely on cash transactions and use the 10 birr note for daily expenses. In this way, the 10 birr note has become a symbol of the resilience and resourcefulness of the Ethiopian people in the face of economic challenges.
